The Lanes

Ruthven and Dowanside lane have a multitude of quirky shops, trinkets and oddities to find. Many of the traders down here specialise in vintage clothing, Bric-à-brac, retro furniture, comics, vinyl records and antiques (especially the shops in the famous Ruthven Mews arcade) . There is also a men's designer store near the entrance to the lane. 

Similarly, Cresswell Lane houses De Courcy's Arcade, which has cluster of around fifteen curious boutiques, galleries, gift shops, cafés and specialist services.

Byres Road includes supermarkets, independent butchers, fishmongers, cheese mongers as well as various deli's selling artisan bread, rare spirits, wines and gourmet food products. Close by, there are several homeware and furniture stores stocking the latest designs so why not impress your friends and loved ones by cooking up a feast.

You really can find all you need in the West End. Byres Road and it's lanes plays host to almost three hundred businesses including jewellers, bike, watch and shoe repair specialists, charity shops, stationers, salons, heritage art shops and new and retro clothes outlets. 

The bottom of Byres Road are where many of the street's estate agents, mortgage lenders and barbers have set up shop. Just a few minutes further down the road, you'll find Mansfield Park, where a Farmer's Market is hosted every 2nd and 4th Saturday for the month (10am-2pm).
