Beating the Blues Health Talk

  • Napiers Herbalists Cresswell Street Glasgow, G12 8BY United Kingdom (map)

Napiers Herbalist will be hosting health talks every other Tuesday from 6pm-7pm, covering topics such as 'Optimising Digestion' to 'Managing Hormones'.

'Beating the Blues' is the first of these talks, featuring nutritional therapist Angela MacRitchie discussing how we underestimate how much food affects our mood. If you are feeling low, stressed or have been diagnosed with depression, what you are eating may make a big difference. Studies have shown people with a diet rich in fish, fruits and vegetables have a lower risk of developing depression.

Acupuncturist Alan Hunter explains studies that indicate how acupuncture can have a specific positive effect on depression, by altering the brain's mood chemistry increasing production of serotonin and endorphins.

Medical Herbalist Nikki Biddiss talking about her 'Top Herbs to Improve Mood' and looking at how the rich tradition of herbal medicine tackles winter blues.

There will be an opportunity to taste some herbal teas and to ask questions.

The event is free but you need to pre-book by emailing glasgow@napiers.net or calling directly on 0141 339 5859.
