Work began at the corner of Dowanside Road at the start of January and is heading up towards the junction with Ruthven Street.

That stretch should be completed by the end of February.

​

Dowanside Road will be closed until mid to late February.

​

Ruthven Street is due to be closed from the end of February for 6-8 weeks. A diversion will be in place and the one way system around Athol Gardens and Saltoun Street will be adjusted to allow access to Ruthven Street and Ruthven Lane from the far end of the road.

​

Parking restrictions are now in force between Ruthven Street and Roxburgh Street to allow materials to be stored for the works leading up to Ruthven Street. The bus stop outside Boots has been temporarily closed, passengers will need to use the stop outside Waitrose until the works on that stretch are complete (probably around the middle to the end of April) when a new bus stop will open in approximately the same location.

Roxburgh Street will close from around the end of March/early April for 6-8 weeks and the work will move on to the next section leading up to Observatory Road.

All businesses remain open as usual on Byres Road and in Dowanside and Ruthven Lanes.
