Visit West End are delighted to invite story lovers of all ages to our sixth annual Book Festival, brought to you over the Glasgow September Weekend.

Come along and engage with authors, poets, illustrators, film and TV makers, in a weekend crammed full of stories, tall tales, historical characters, the occasional murder and an Orange called Kevin….!

Whilst you are here, take some time to browse around the unique and eclectic mix of shops, hospitality venues, hair and beauty treatments and professional services that Byres Road and the Lanes have to offer.

Byres Road Book Festival

The Byres Road Book Festival started in 2016, and this will be the fifth edition of the event.

We have been delighted to welcome a strong selection of writers including Andrew O’Hagan, Christopher Brookmyre, Ian McMillan, Denise Mina, Graeme Macrae Burnett, Sally Magnusson, Kirsty Logan and Maisie Chang.

Make Music Day

Make Music Day is an international annual day of music making.

The free celebration of music takes place in 125 countries on the 21st of June every year.

It creates cultural communities by:

Fostering connections in music-making
Supporting the development of skills
Promoting music to new audiences via free music events and participatory projects
